Two-straight layups by McConnell and Hamilton gave the lead back to Duquesne as the first media timeout approached. The Dukes' first 10 points all came in the paint.

Fordham hit two three-pointers to take a five-point lead, but sophomore guard Naelle Bernard beat the first quarter-buzzer with a reverse layup as time expired. At the end of one, Fordham led by three.

Bernard followed that up with a three-pointer at the beginning of the second quarter, but Fordham made a couple baskets to take a four-point lead. The Rams' lead quickly rose to eight points.

The scoring picked up a little after the media timeout, as Johnson and Hamilton combined for a quick five points. A McConnell free throw made it 28-23 Fordham with three minutes remaining.

Back-to-back threes by Hamilton and redshirt junior guard Lauren Wasylson finally put the Dukes back up by one point, but a Fordham layup sent the Dukes to the locker room down by one.

A three by sophomore guard Tess Myers tied the game at 32 early in the third, then the Dukes found themselves up by three after four points by Hamilton and Johnson.

The game went back-and-forth for the next two minutes, but Fordham led by two with 4:51 left in the third. Neither team was shooting higher than 37 percent at this point.

A jumper by Wasylson tightened things up at 43-42, but then Fordham scored seven-straight to take a commanding 50-42 lead. Two free throws by Johnson brought the Dukes' deficit to six.

At the end of three quarters, Fordham led by eight.

Five-straight points by Hamilton made it a six-point game, then McConnell made a free throw to get within five.

Myers and McConnell scored on back-to-back possessions but so did Fordham – the Rams hit two three-pointers to extend their lead to nine.

Duquesne wasn't done fighting though, as Hamilton hit another mid-range jumper. Despite Duquesne's efforts, Fordham just kept knocking down shots, going on an 8-0 run to make it a 15-point game.

The Dukes' deficit only got higher as the fourth quarter went on, and they fell in this one.
