WILMINGTON, Del. - The No. 10 seed Duquesne Dukes will open the 2022 Atlantic 10 Championship with a second-round matchup against No. 7 seed Saint Joseph's on Thursday, March 3 at 5 p.m. inside the CHASE FIeldhouse.
The winner of the Duquesne-Saint Joseph's contest will advance to face No. 2 seed Rhode Island in a quarterfinal matchup on Friday, March 4 at 5 p.m.
The Dukes are 29-36 all-time at the A-10 Championship. The Dukes have recorded a win in two of the last three tournaments, advancing to the semifinals in 2019 and the quarterfinals in 2020. Duquesne is 10-8 under Head Coach

THE SERIES - vs. SAINT JOSEPH'S
- The Dukes and Hawks are meeting for the 59th time - Duquesne's fourth most-common opponent all-time.
- This will mark the sixth meeting between the two teams in the Atlantic 10 Championship.
- Although Saint Joseph's has won five of the six matchups, the Dukes pulled out a 78-63 win the last time the two teams played at the event in 2017.
- Saint Joseph's has held the upper hand in the series, winning 45 of those games. The 45 losses rank second only to GW (57) for the most defeats at the hands of a single opponent.
- The Dukes have won six of the past 10 meetings in the series, including four-straight during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.
- The four-straight wins was the longest Duquesne winning-streak in the series.
- Saint Joseph's won the first 20 games in the series.
- The Dukes snapped the streak with a 47-46 win on Jan. 14, 1995.
LAST MEETING - Feb. 26, 2022
- The Dukes were defeated 73-68 by Saint Joseph's in the regular-season finale last week.
- Precious Johnson matched a career high with 20 points in the setback. She also added six rebounds and four blocks to her final line.
- Fatou Pouye finished with 12 points, while Megan McConnell added 11 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
- The Dukes shot 29 of 68 (43 percent) from the field, but just 4-of-17 (24 percent) from long range. Saint Joseph's was 24 of 51 (47 percent) and 9-of-19 (47 percent) from three-point range.
- Saint Joseph's guard Mackenzie Smith led four players in double figures for the Hawks with 26 points, including 18 in the third quarter alone, and seven rebounds.
DUKES AS THE 10TH SEED
- Duquesne enters the A-10 Championship as the No. 10 seed for the second time in program history.
- The Dukes were the 10th seed at the 2006 tournament and made a run to the semifinal round.
- After defeating UMass 56-51 in the opening round, Duquesne scored a 56-45 upset-win over No. 2 seed Charlotte in the quarterfinals.
- The Dukes' run came to an end when they were defeated 76-53 by Dawn Staley's No. 22-ranked Temple Owls team in the semifinals.
- 2006 A-10 Player of the Year and future seven-time WNBA All-Star Candice Dupree scored 31 points to lead the Owls past Duquesne in that game.
STAT CHECK ENTERING THE CHAMPIONSHIP
- Tess Myers leads the A-10 and ranks fifth in Division I with 3.07 three-point field goals per game. Myers has converted a league-leading 86 three pointers on a league-high 217 attempts. Her 39.6 three-point field goal percentage is third in the A-10 and 46th overall in the NCAA.
- Megan McConnell leads the A-10 and ranks 33rd nationally with 2.54 steals per game. She also ranks sixth in the league with 4.1 assists per game and has the third best assist-turnover ratio (2.07).
- Libby Bazelak slots seventh in the A-10 with 3.8 assists per game and seventh with a 1.56 assist-turnover ratio. She is one of 26 players to record a triple-double this season and the only player from the A-10 to do so.
- Precious Johnson ranks fifth in the A-10 with 1.14 blocked shots per game.
