Dukes enter the final week of the regular season

THE SERIES - vs. LA SALLE
  • The Dukes and Explorers will play for the 44th time - Duquesne's 10th most-common opponent all-time.
  • Duquesne holds a slight 23-20 edge in the all-time series and has won 14 of the past 17 meetings.
  • The two teams met three times last season, including a 72-68 La Salle victory in the first round of the A-10 Championship.
  • Each of those three meetings last season was decided by four points.
  • La Salle's win over Duquesne in the first meeting during the 2020-21 season snapped a six-game winning streak for the Dukes that dated back to 2015.

LAST MEETING - Jan. 30, 2022
  • Libby Bazelak recorded the fifth triple-double in program-history to lead the Dukes to a 68-47 win over La Salle at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.
  • Bazelak finished with 10 points, 11 rebounds (five offensive) and 10 assists.
  • Tess Myers finished with a game-high 20 points, Precious Johnson posted 12 points, while Megan McConnell added 12 points and eight rebounds.
  • The Dukes led wire-to-wire in the victory.
  • In addition to the triple-double, Bazelak became the 32nd player in school-history to eclipse 1,000 career points during the win.
  • The Dukes limited La Salle leading scorer Kayla Spruill to seven points on 3-of-8 shooting.

SCOUTING LA SALLE
  • The Explorers are winners of two in-a-row (Davidson & Saint Louis).
  • La Salle offensively in the A-10 ranks second in three-point field goals per game (8.9) and fourth in scoring (65.9 ppg.).
  • Defensively, they lead the league in steals per game (9.1) and turnovers forced per game (17.4).
  • La Salle shot over 50 percent for the first time since 2017 in its 80-68 win over Davidson (53.8).
  • Leading scorer Kayla Spruill (15.9 ppg.) ranks sixth in the A-10.
  • She has scored in double figures in 19 games this season, including each of the past six games.
  • The last time she did not reach double figures was at Duquesne on Jan. 30, 2022.
  • Spruill leads the A-10 and ranks third in Division I with a 47.2 three-point field goal percentage.
  • Her 2.32 three pointers per game slots fourth in the Atlantic 10.
  • Molly Masciantonio is fourth in the league in assists (4.7) and fifth in steals (2.0) per game.
  • She has the league's best assist-turnover ratio (2.57).

LAST TIME OUT
  • The Dukes converted a program-record 19 three pointers to surge past St. Bonaventure 99-75 Sunday.
  • Fatou Pouye led all players with 27 points on 10 of 16 shooting, including 5-of-7 from long range, with seven rebounds.
  • Libby Bazelak dropped 21 points on 7-of-9 from the field, including a perfect 5-for-5 from three-point range. The five treys matched a career-high. She also dished out nine assists.
  • Tess Myers matched her career-high with six three pointers and posted 18 points with a career-high nine rebounds.
  • The point-total was the second-most points in a single-game under Head Coach Dan Burt and is tied for the fifth-most all-time in program history.
  • As a team, the Dukes shot 35 of 68 (51.5 percent).

STAT CHECK
  • Tess Myers leads the A-10 and ranks fifth in Division I with 3.23 three-point field goals per game. Myers has converted a league-leading 84 three pointers on a league-high 207 attempts. Her 40.6 three-point field goal percentage is second in the A-10 and 41st overall in the NCAA.
  • Megan McConnell leads the A-10 and ranks 35th nationally with 2.54 steals per game. She also ranks sixth in the league with 4.0 assists per game and has the third best assist-turnover ratio (2.02).
  • Libby Bazelak slots seventh in the A-10 with both 3.9 assists per game and a 1.60 assist-turnover ratio. She is one of 25 players to record a triple-double this season and the only player from the A-10 to do so.
  • Fatou Pouye ranks fifth in the league with a 47.4 field goal percentage.
  • Precious Johnson ranks fifth in the A-10 with 1.08 blocked shots per game.
RAINING TREYS
  • Duquesne established a program-record when it converted 19 three pointers in their 99-75 win at St. Bonaventure.
  • The team smashed the previous school-record of 14 which was set in games against Akron (12/4/19) and La Salle (2/25/09).
  • The total also tied the Atlantic 10 record which was established by Dayton on Jan. 4, 2018.
  • The Dukes finished the day 19 of 33 (57.6 percent) from beyond-the-arc and made eight of their last nine attempts in the contest.
  • Duquesne is third in the A-10 this season with 7.6 three-point field goals per game.

OFFENSIVE OUTBURST
  • The Dukes have scored 80 or more points in each of the past two games after not reaching the mark at any point this season.
  • Duquesne was averaging 60.5 ppg. in the 10 games prior and eclipsed 70 points once during that stretch.
  • The Dukes took two completely different routes to their season's best point totals in the wins.
  • Duquesne knocked down 19 three pointers, shot a season-best 51.5 percent from the field and had only 20 points in the paint in their win at St. Bonaventure.
  • In their 80-68 win over Richmond, the team shot just 4-of-20 from three-point range, but scored a season-high 46 points in the paint.
