Duquesne will look to get a little revenge on Tulsa Thursday night as the two teams meet for a second-straight year.Â
THE SERIES - vs. TULSA
- The Dukes and Golden Hurricane have met three times, with Duquesne winning two of those.
- The two teams met twice in 2000 and once again last year in 2021.
- Duquesne won the first two while Tulsa won last year's matchup.
LAST MEETING - Nov. 11, 2021
- Tulsa beat Duquesne in November last year, 77-62.
- A huge second quarter led Tulsa to victory, as it outscored Duquesne 21-6.Â
- Tess Myers was Duquesne's leading scorer with 17 points and four three-pointers.Â
- Two Tulsa players scored over 20 points.
SCOUTING TULSA
- Tulsa  is 4-2 and coming off a 92-57 blowout win over South Carolina State on Wednesday.
- The Golden Hurricane lost to Long Beach State, 64-45, the day before.
- Tulsa also has wins over Oral Roberts, San Jose State and Alcorn State.
- Tulsa returns seven players from last year's 17-11 and WNIT team, including three starters, while welcoming seven newcomers to this season's roster.
- Temira Poindexter is Tulsa's leading scorer with 16.0 points per game.Â
- The Golden Hurricane was picked to finish fourth in the AAC this season.Â
- Tulsa is led by head coach Angie Nelp, who has a 21-13 overall record in her second season.
LAST TIME OUT
- Duquesne took down Marshall on Sunday, giving the Dukes their first road win of the season.
- Despite being up 21 in the fourth quarter, Duquesne won by seven. The final was 77-72.
- All seven players who saw the floor for Duquesne scored at leats five points and played at least 18 minutes.
- Precious Johnson led the Dukes with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Megan McConnell recorded 12 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and six steals.
- Tess Myers scored 18 on 6-for-14 shooting.
- As a team, Duquesne shot 48.2 percent from the field and 34.6 percent from deep.Â

- Megan McConnell averages 5.2 assists per game, which ranks second in the conference (39th in nation). She is also one of of only four players in the country with a triple-double this season. Her 9.0 rebounds per game lead the A-10. She also leads the A-10 in assist/turnover ratio at 2.58 (37th in nation).
- Tess Myers ranks third the A-10 and 33rd in the country with 2.83 three-pointers per game this season. Her 17 three-pointers made are the sixth-most in the conference. Her 90 total threes last season led the conference and ranked 14th in the nation.Â
- The Dukes lead the A-10 in scoring margin (14.0, 66th in nation), rebounds per game (44.2, 30th in nation) and defensive rebounds per game (31.8, 11th in nation). Their field goal percentage defense (35.2%) ranks second in the conference.
BEASTS ON THE BOARDS
- Megan McConnell leads the A-10 with 9.0 rebounds per game. Her 7.8 defensive rebounds per game rank 16th in the nation.
- She led the team with 6.4 rebounds per game last season, which ranked 10th in the conference.Â
- McConnell hauled in at least five rebounds in 22 games last season. She has five or more in all six games so far this year.
- Precious Johnson ranks second on the team and 13th in the conference with 7.2 rebounds per game.Â
- Ayanna Townsend ranks third on the team with 6.7 rebounds per game.Â
- Duquesne's 31.8 defensive rebounds per game ranks 11th in the country. The Dukes' 44.2 rebounds per game rank 30th in the country.Â
PLAYING LIKE A MCCONNELL
- In addition to rebounds, Megan McConnell leads the team in steals per game (3.3, 16th in nation) and assists per game (5.2, 39th in nation).Â
- Last year she led the team in both assists (4.1) and steals (2.6) per game.
- She has 20 steals already, recorded five in the season opener and had six in the Marshall game.Â
- McConnell recorded a career-high eight steals versus George Washington on Feb. 9, 2022.
- It marked the most steals in a single game by a Dukes player under Head Coach Dan Burt.
HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
- Since taking over as head coach in the 2013-14 season, Dan Burt has led the Dukes to a 91-38 record in home games.Â
- Not including the shortened 2020-21 season (only five home games), the Dukes haven't had a losing record at home since 2006-07 and never have under Burt.

- In the first game of the year, Duquesne put up 94 points and showed off the fast and furious offense that head coach Dan Burt has been talking about.Â
- The Dukes hit 90 points again against Siena, winning 92-73.
- Through six games, Duquesne ranks highly in the A-10 in scoring offense (75.3 PPG, 3rd) and scoring margin (+14.0, 1st).
- With four of their top six leading scorers from last year back, the Dukes have an offensive core ready to put up points this year. Â
