Duquesne and Marshall are set to meet for the first time since 1999 on Sunday at 1:00 P.M. in Huntington, W. Va.
THE SERIES - vs. MARSHALL
- The Dukes and Thundering Herd have met eight times, with each team winning four matchups.
- The two teams have not met since 1999 and played all eight of their games between 1978 and 1999.
- Duquesne won the previous two games by double digits.
- The first-ever game took place in Johnstown, Pa., with the Dukes winning 67-50.

SCOUTING MARSHALL
- Marshall is 3-2 and coming off a 48-43 loss to Norfolk State on Wednesday.
- The Herd played games in three-straight games this week at the Hostilo Hoops Community Classicin Savannah, Ga.
- In the first two games, Marshall grabbed wins against UT Martin and Purdue Fort Wayne.
- Marshall brought in 10 new players for the 2022-23 season - six transfers and four freshmen.
- Roshala Scott leads the team in scoring (16.0 ppg) while Abby Beeman leads the Herd in rebounding (5.8 rpg) and assists (4.6 apg).
- Last season, Marshall finished 15-13 overall (10-8 SBC) and fell to Rice in the Conference USA Tournament.
- Marshall is led by head coach Tony Kemper, who has a 65-78 record at Marshall and is in his sixth year.
LAST TIME OUT
- Duquesne rolled against Siena on Tuesday night, winning 92-73 and scoring over 90 points for the second time already this season.
- Five different Dukes players were in double-figures scoring.
- Naelle Bernard scored a career-high 18 points, which tied for the team lead with Ayanna Townsend.
- Megan McConnell and Amaya Hamilton each recorded a double-double.
- Duquesne made 12 threes and shot 45.6 percent from the field.

- Ayanna Townsend averages 1.60 blocks per game and has eight this season. Both of those numbers rank top-4 in the conference. Her 7.8 rebounds per game are the seventh-most in the A-10.
- Tess Myers leads the A-10 and ranks 25th in the country with 3.00 three-pointers per game this season. Her 15 three-pointers made are the second-most in the conference. Her 90 total threes last season led the conference and ranked 14th in the nation.
- Megan McConnell averages 4.6 assists per game, which ranks fourth in the conference. She is also one of of only three players in the country with a triple-double this season. Her 9.0 rebounds per game rank fourth in the A-10.
- The Dukes lead the A-10 in field goal % defense (33.5, 33rd in nation), rebounds per game (45.8, 26th in nation) and defensive rebounds per game (33.4, 10th in nation). Their scoring margin (+15.8) ranks second in the A-10.

- Duquesne ranks 33rd in the country and first in the conference in field goal percentage defense, with opposing teams shooting just 33.5 percent against the Dukes.
- The Dukes' scoring defense ranks fifth in the conference as opposing teams have scored just 59.2 points per game.
- The Dukes held opponents to under 50 points five times last season and won eight games by double digits. They have won three games by double-digits already this year.
- Duquesne held an opponent to under 50 points just once during the previous 2020-21 season (George Mason) and did not win any games in 2020-21 by double digits.

- She led the team with 6.4 rebounds per game last season, which ranked 10th in the conference.
- McConnell hauled in at least five rebounds in 22 games last season. She has five or more in all five games so far this year.
- Ayanna Townsend ranks second on the team and seventh in the conference with 7.9 rebounds per game. She has four games with at least seven rebounds.
- Amaya Hamilton ranks third on the team with 5.8 rebounds per game and has two games with nine or more.
- Duquesne's 33.4 defensive rebounds per game ranks 10th in the country. The Dukes' 45.8 rebounds per game rank 26th in the country.
ALL-TIME WINS RECORD
- Dan Burt is three wins away from tying and four wins away from breaking the all-time wins record at Duquesne.
- Dan Burkin (1994-2007) has the record with 176 wins.

- In the first game of the year, Duquesne put up 94 points and showed off the fast and furious offense that head coach Dan Burt has been talking about.
- The Dukes hit 90 points again against Siena, winning 92-73.
- Through five games, Duquesne ranks highly in the A-10 in scoring offense (75.0 PPG, 4th) and scoring margin (+15.8, 2nd).
- With four of their top six leading scorers from last year back, the Dukes have an offensive core ready to put up points this year.
