THE SERIES - vs. SIENA
  • The Dukes and Saints have met three times, with Duquesne winning two of those three.
  • Duquesne won the first and most recent game while Siena took the second matchup.
  • All three games have been decided by 10 points or less.
  • The first two matchups took place in 2003 and 2004, with the most recent one taking place last season.
LAST MEETING - Nov. 27, 2021

  • Libby Bazelak had 10 rebounds.
  • Leading by only two going into the fourth quarter, Duquesne outscored Siena 17-9 in the final 10 minutes.
SCOUTING SIENA
  • Siena is 2-2 and is coming off a 63-55 win over Lafayette on Saturday.
  • The Saints have yet to play on the road this season, so this game will be a true test for them.
  • Siena lost to St. Bonaventure, an A-10 opponent, 69-63.
  • Ahniysha Jackson leads the team with 11.3 points per game, including 18 her last time out.
  • Anajah Brown has been a menace defensively, as she already has six steals and 11 blocks.
  • The Saints finished 10-19 last season (10-10 MAAC) and were picked to finish ninth this year.

  • Pitt's Liatu King had 25 points to lead all players.
STAT CHECK
  • Ayanna Townsend averages 2.00 blocks per game and has eight this season. Both of those numbers rank second in the conference. Her 8.8 rebounds per game are the fourth-most in the A-10.
  • Tess Myers leads the A-10 and ranks 30th in the country with 3.00 three-pointers per game this season. Her 12 three-pointers made are the fifth-most in the conference. Her 90 total threes last season led the conference and ranked 14th in the nation.
  • Megan McConnell averages 4.8 assists per game, which ranks third in the conference. She is also one of of only three players in the country with a triple-double this season.

HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
  • Since taking over as head coach in the 2013-14 season, Dan Burt has led the Dukes to a 90-38 record in home games.
  • Not including the shortened 2020-21 season (only five home games), the Dukes haven't had a losing record at home since 2006-07 and never have under Burt.
  • The Dukes went 8-7 at home last season in their first full season at the upgraded UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse. • Duquesne is 3-0 at home this season.

  • The Dukes' scoring defense ranks third in the conference as opposing teams have scored just 55.8 points per game.
  • The Dukes held opponents to under 50 points five times last season and won eight games by double digits. They have acheived that twice already this year.
  • Duquesne held an opponent to under 50 points just once during the previous 2020-21 season (George Mason) and did not win any games in 2020-21 by double digits.
  • The 44 points allowed by Duquesne in its win versus St. Bonaventure last year was the fewest points yielded by the squad since the Dukes limited the Bonnies to 39 on Jan. 30, 2020.
OFFENSIVE FIREPOWER
  • In the first game of the year, Duquesne put up 94 points and showed off the fast and furious offense that head coach Dan Burt has been talking about.
  • Through four games, Duquesne ranks highly in the A-10 in scoring offense (79.3 PPG, 4th) and scoring margin (+15.0, 2nd).
  • With four of their top six leading scorers from last year back, the Dukes have an offensive core ready to put up points this year
