The Dukes welcome George Mason to the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse Wednesday evening.

The Dukes have won all nine meetings against the Patriots since George Mason joined the A-10. The average margin of victory in those contests has been 17.0 points per game.

THE SERIES - vs. GEORGE MASON
  • The Dukes and Patriots have met each season since George Mason joined the A-10 for the 2013-14 season, including a first round meeting in the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championship.
  • Duquesne has won all nine of those meetings as conference foes.
  • The Patriots have not defeated the Dukes since a 62-55 win in 1999 in non-conference play.
  • George Mason has never left Pittsburgh with a win over Duquesne.

LAST MEETING - Feb. 14, 2021
  • The Dukes halted a seven-game losing streak with a 55-49 win at George Mason last season.Duquesne trailed 47-46 with five minutes left in the game, before out-scoring the Patriots 9-2 down the stretch to secure the win.
  • Libby Bazelak led the Dukes with 18 points and shot 6-of-11 from the floor including 3-of-6 from 3-point land.Duquesne controlled the paint, holding significant advantages in rebounds (43-34), offensive rebounds (18-8), second chance points (16-6) and points in the paint (30-16).
  • Rachel Balzer led the Patriots with 14 points in the loss.
  • The Dukes were playing in just their second game after a 25-day layoff due to COVID-19 protocols

SCOUTING GEORGE MASON
  • Mason enters the game on an eight-game losing streak that dates back to Dec. 6.The team's last win was a 75-71 victory over Florida that improved the Patriots to 6-3 at the time.
  • George Mason is 4-4 this season on the road and 1-7 when playing on its home floor. Its only home win this season came against Florida.
  • The Patriots prefer to play close to the rim. Mason leads the A-10 in free throws made (240) and is second in free-throw attempts (330).
  • As a team, they shoot 72.7 percent from the charity stripe to slot fifth in the A-10.
  • George Mason ranks last in the 14-team league with a 26.8 three-point field goal percentage and 11th with 87 made three pointers.
  • Leading scorer Amaya Scott ranks second in the league with 18.6 ppg. and seventh with 7.5 rpg.
  • She is 72 of 101 at the free-throw line, which ranks first in the A-10 in both makes and attempts.
  • Scott is coming off of a career-high 35 points in an 81-74 loss to St. Bonaventure this past Sunday.
  • She also added 13 rebounds to pick up her 13th career double-double.
  • Jayla Adams leads the team and ranks seventh in the A-10 with 3.6 assists per game.
  • She also established a career-high with 14 points in the St. Bonaventure loss.
  • Jordan Wakefield is the team's top-threat from long range. She ranks 10th in the league with 1.82 three-point shots per game.

LAST TIME OUT
  • Behind a season-high 11 three pointers, the Dukes collected a 71-62 win at Saint Louis Saturday night.
  • Duquesne led 29-27 at the half and had one of its best quarters of the season in the third.
  • The Dukes out-scored Saint Louis 22-11 in the period and went on a 13-2 run that spanned over five minutes, before taking a 51-38 lead into the fourth.
  • Saint Louis went on a 12-1 run late to make things interesting, but the Dukes knocked down their free throws to put the game away.
  • Duquesne was led by four players in double figures, including a career-high 18 points from Amaya Hamilton.
  • Libby Bazelak posted 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals in the win.
  • Both Tess Myers and Megan McConnell finished with 10 points.
  • Myers matched Bazelak's team-high seven rebounds, while McConnell matched Bazelak's game-high five assists.
  • The Dukes finished 11 of 30 (37 percent) from three-point range. Duquesne was 25 of 59 (42 percent) from the field. Saint Louis entered the evening allowing teams to convert an A-10 worst 34 percent from beyond-the-arc.
  • Duquesne committed a season-low seven turnovers.
