For the first time in 370 days, the Duquesne lacrosse team will take the field hosting Kent State to open the 2021 campaign on Tuesday, March 16 at 4 p.m. at Arthur J. Rooney Field.

Tuesday marks the first meeting between Duquesne and Kent State.
SCOUTING THE DUKES
- Corinne Desrosiers enters her third year at the helm of the Duquesne program.
- The Dukes were picked to finish fifth in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Duquesne returns its five leading scorers from a year ago in Maddie Hart, Michaela Connolly, Rilee Bradshaw, Elizabeth Petrosky and Carlee Braverman.
- The Dukes started the 2020 campaign 3-3 - with two losses coming to teams from the Big 10 - before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Duquesne finished the shortened season pacing the country in caused turnovers per game (17.33), as both Hart and Sydney Reed tied for the NCAA lead with 3.0 caused turnovers per contest. The Dukes were also second in the nation in ground balls per game (24.83).
- Both Reed and Hart were First Team All-Atlantic 10 selections in 2019.
- Hart is Duquesne's all-time leader in career draw controls with 252. She also sits ninth in program history with 123 ground balls and 10th with 88 caused turnovers. She enters the 2021 campaign with 120 career points, including 98 goals.
- Reed set single-game school records with 10 ground balls and nine caused turnovers in Duquesne's last game against Akron.
- Bradshaw enters the 2021 season with 99 career points including 88 career goals.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN FLASHES
- Kent State enters Tuesday's matchup with a 1-4 record on the season with a 1-1 mark in Mid-American Conference (MAC) play.
- The 2021 campaign marks the third season in the history of the Kent State program. The Golden Flashes posted a 2-15 mark in their inaugural season in 2019 before recording an 0-6 ledger during the shortened 2020 campaign.
- Kent State is coming off a 9-8 win over MAC rival Akron on Saturday.
- Abby Jones paces the Golden Flashes with 16 points on the season including 13 goals and three assists.
- Madison Rapier has chipped in 10 goals for Kent State, as well.
- The Golden Flashes are led by third-year head coach Brianne Tierney.

ROONEY FIELD SPRING SPORT ATTENDANCE GUIDELINES
- Due to social distancing requirements and limited seating available at Rooney Field, attendance for home men's and women's soccer matches as well as lacrosse games played this spring is limited to family and friends of participating Duquesne student-athletes.
- In order to ensure the safety of student-athletes and the campus community as a whole, the only fans who will be admitted are those who are listed by DU student-athletes on a monitored, pre-approved pass list.
- Masks must be worn at all times while on campus.
- Walk-up fans will not be permitted.
- Fans will not be permitted to stand along fencing under the Mellon Hall overhang or on Academic Walk.
- Tailgating is prohibited.
- Rooney Field will open to fans 30 minutes prior to the start of the event.
- There will be no field access prior to or following the game.
- Concessions will not be available. Those in attendance are permitted to bring unopened non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. No coolers or large bags will be permitted.
- Parking - Parking for those on pass lists will be available in the Forbes Avenue Parking Garage. Please take the elevator to the 8th Floor and use the walkway between the Duquesne Student Union and College Hall to walk to Rooney Field.
