Atlantic 10 Releases Women’s Soccer Preseason Poll

Dukes tabbed ninth

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – On Wednesday, the Atlantic 10 announced its annual women's soccer preseason poll. The Dukes were selected to finish in ninth place, earning 91 total points.

Defending A-10 Champion Saint Louis (194 points) was picked to repeat as champions, earning 12 first place votes. George Washington (171 points), Massachusetts (155 points), Dayton (146 points) and VCU (135) round out the top five teams.

Philadelphia foes La Salle (124 points) and Saint Joseph's (109 points) were predicted to finish sixth and seventh, respectively. George Mason (92 points) earned a single point ahead of the Duquesne to grab the eighth spot.

Fordham (79 points), Davidson (62 points), Richmond (57 points), St. Bonaventure (28 points) and Rhode Island (27 points) took the remaining four spots.

The Dukes, who graduated just one player from the 2019 squad that went 6-8-3, return its entire offense of 22 goals, 15 assists and 59 points. Atlantic 10 Second Team selection Deena DeBadlo returns to the Bluff after registering nine goals. Her 22 points in a single season marked the fourth-most in program history.    

The Spring 2021 schedule will be released in the coming days.
