YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Duquesne women's track and field team began the 2021-22 indoor season on Friday evening at the Youngstown State Icebreaker hosted by the Penguins at the Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS).
The Dukes posted six top-five finishes on the day, highlighted by
Amberly Valeriano posting a first-place mark in the 60-meter hurdles of 8.68 seconds.
Freshman Mara Whalen registered a second-place finish in her collegiate debut in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:19.84.
Emily Brozeski earned a second-place showing in the long jump with a mark of 5.81 meters for the Dukes.
Kiki Thornton finished fourth in the 3000-meter run for Duquesne with a time of 11:21.96 while
Hannah Seitzinger finished fifth in the 400-meter run at 57.02 and
Caroline Billone recorded a fifth-place finish in the triple jump at 11.28 meters.
