PITTSBURGH – On Sunday afternoon, the Duquesne women's basketball team seeks its third consecutive and sixth victory in eight games when the Dukes (15-7, 5-4) host the Saint Joseph's Hawks (8-14, 2-8) at La Roche University. The 55th meeting between Duquesne and Saint Joseph's is slated for a 2:00 p.m. tip in the North Hills of Pittsburgh.

LAST TIME OUT:
- Despite a late rally, the Duquesne women's basketball team hung on to defeat VCU, 79-76, on Sunday afternoon at the Siegel Center. With the win, the Dukes (15-7, 5-4) hand the Rams (12-9, 7-1) their first conference loss of the season and have now defeated the Rams in eight consecutive games.
- Duquesne led by 10 with 34 seconds left, but timely steals and clutch buckets gave VCU a possession to tie the game in the closing seconds, but Duquesne ultimately came away with its fourth consecutive win at the Siegel Center.
- The Dukes were led in scoring, Libby Bazelak who registered a career-best 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the floor. She grabbed six rebounds and distributed three assists in nearly 39 minutes on the court.
THE SERIES:
- The Dukes have won five of the last six meetings and seven of the last 10 contests against the Hawks, but SJU owns the series by a 43-12 mark.
- The Dukes are 8-15 in Pittsburgh against Hawks.
- On Jan. 18, Duquesne came back from a double-digit deficit to down St. Joe's, 58-51, on Hawk Hill. Paige Cannon scored nine of her game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter to lead the comeback in a nationally televised game on CBS Sports Network.

- Bazelak enters Sunday's contest ranked sixth nationally in 3-point field goal percentage, draining 46.4 percent of her attempts from beyond the arc this season.
- Despite not having an on-campus home arena this season, the Dukes are now 7-2 at 'home' sites which include La Roche University (6-1) PPG Paints Arena (0-1) and Oakland Catholic High School (1-0). The Dukes have outscored its opponents by an average margin of 12.2 points per game at home. Duquesne has two games remaining at La Roche, one at PPG Paints Arena and its final home game of the season at Robert Morris.
- In five games at La Roche, Four different Dukes have shot above 50 percent from the field, including Johnson (68.2 percent), Bazelak (58.1 percent, 53.6 percent 3PT), Kalin (56.3 percent) and Sole (50 percent). Overall the Dukes have made 47.4 percent of its field goal attempts at La Roche, including nearly 40 percent from long distance (39.9 percent).
- Over the past five games, Duquesne is shooting 42.8 percent from the field and 39.8 perc3ent from beyond the arc as a team. Bazelak is averaging 15.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.6 steals in that span. The Dukes have outscored its opponents by an average of 9.4 points per game in that span, going 4-1 with the lone blemish a 53-50 loss at Saint Louis.
- In the Dukes' seven losses this season, four have come by five points or less. Only Temple, Oklahoma State and Dayton have defeated the Dukes more than six points this season.
- Among all home tenants at La Roche's Kerr Fitness Center this season, Duquesne women's basketball (4-1), Duquesne men's basketball (3-0), La Roche women's basketball (7-1) and La Roche men's basketball (7-0) have combined for a 21-2 record at home. Only UMass women's basketball and Carnegie Mellon women's basketball have escaped the Kerr Fitness Center with wins.
SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S:
- Since falling to Duquesne at Hagan Arena on Jan. 18, the Hawks bounced back with a 61-60 win over St. Bonaventure, but have dropped four consecutive matchups to La Salle, George Washington, Dayton and Saint Louis.
- St. Joe's defense allows just 56 points per game, which leads the conference and ranks 24th in Division I. The Hawks are also the best squad defending the arc in the A-10, allowing just 27.6 percent of attempts to be converted from 3-point land. That clip is ranked 32nd in the country.
- Katie Jekot leads the Hawks in points (9.9 ppg), steals (1.3 spg) and 3-pointers (1.4 per game), while Gabby Smalls grabs 5.3 boards per game to lead SJU off the glass.
- In the midst of her 19th season on Hawk Hill, head coach Cindy Griffin has posted 329-261 record at SJU.
