PITTSBURGH – With major Atlantic 10 Championship implications on the line the rest of the season, the Duquesne women's basketball team opens a three-game homestead against Rhode Island at PPG Paints Arena on Wednesday night. The opening tip between the Dukes (16-9, 6-6) and Rams (13-11, 6-6) is set for 5:30 p.m.
HOW TO FOLLOWÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
- The Dukes and Rams will tipoff at 5:30 p.m. in the first leg of a doubleheader at PPG Paints Arena. The Duquesne men will battle George Washington in the second game, with an expected tipoff of 8:00 p.m.
- Tickets are needed for all home games at PPG Paints Arena this season. One ticket will give fans access to both the Duquesne women's and men's games.
- The game will be broadcasted on ESPN+ with Tim Benz and Ellis Cannon on the call.

THE SERIES
- The Dukes own a 33-21 lead in the all-time series, winning three consecutive and 15 of the past 17 matchups over the Rams.
- In the most recent meeting in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Championships a season ago, the Dukes posted a historical offensive performance, pouring in 106 points in a 106-69 win over the Rams. It was the second highest point output in program history.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Dukes battled back from an early deficit and went wire-to-wire with Davidson, but Duquesne came up just short by a score of 79-76 on Sunday afternoon at Belk Arena.
- Paige Cannon led the team in scoring for the second consecutive game, pouring in 18 points (6-10 FG, 2-4 3PT). The redshirt senior grabbed three rebounds, distributed three assists and earned two steals.
STAT CHECK
- Libby Bazelak has moved up two spots to third nationally in 3-point field goal percentage, draining 46.8 percent of her trifectas from deep on the season.
- The Dukes offense continues to be the best in the Atlantic 10 in scoring, averaging 69.4 points per game.
- Duquesne's 41.7 field goal percentage and 34.9 clip 3-point is best in the A-10.
- Head Coach Dan Burt seeks his 150th career win on Tuesday, compiling a career record of 149-76. He would be the fastest in school history to accomplish the feat.
- Paige Cannon surpassed 500 career rebounds with three boards at Davidson on Sunday. Cannon is now tied for 13th in program history in the category.
- In the Dukes' nine losses this season, six have come by five points or less. Only Temple, Oklahoma State and Dayton have defeated the Dukes by six points or more this season.
A LOOK AT THE STANDINGS
- Duquesne and Rhode Island are currently tied for sixth in the Atlantic 10 standings with a 6-6 conference record. The top two seeds earn a first round bye at the Atlantic 10 Championships, while seeds 3 to 8 will host seeds 9 to 14 before heading to Dayton for the quarterfinal round through the championship game.
- With four games remaining, there is only a two-game difference between fourth-place Saint Louis (7-5) and Davidson (7-5) and eight place Richmond, George Washington and La Salle, who are all 5-7 in A-10 play.
SCOUTING RHODE ISLAND
- The Rams have won two straight, with wins against Saint Louis and St. Bonaventure both coming at the Ryan Center.
- 10 of URI's 13 wins this season have come in Kingston, as the Rams have defeated just one conference road in Saint Joseph's on the road this season.
- Nicole Jorgensen leads the Rams in scoring (16.2 ppg) and rebounding (8.8 rpg), ranking in the top 10 of the conference in points per game (3rd), rebounding (first), field goal percentage (4th) and blocks (5th).
- Davida Dale is also a constant presence among the A-10 leaders, ranking fifth in the conference in rebounding (7.7 rpg), first in assists (4.9 apg) and second in steals (2.1 spg).
