PITTSBURGH – The Duquesne women's basketball team looks to extend its winning streak to four on Wednesday night, when the Dukes (16-7, 6-4) travel to the River City for the second time in less than two weeks to battle the Richmond Spiders (11-13, 4-6). The opening tip at the Robins Center is set for 6:30 p.m.

THE SERIES
- The series between the Dukes and Spiders is all knotted up at 12-12, after Duquesne has won eight consecutive against Richmond.
- Duquesne head coach Dan Burt is a perfect 7-0 against the Spiders, including a 26-point (80-56) thumping at the Palumbo Center a season ago.
- Richmond last earned a win in the series on Feb. 22, 2012 in a 55-45 victory in Richmond.
LAST TIME OUT
- In a defensive battle in the North Hills, the Duquesne women's basketball posted a strong first half offensively to overcome a sluggish second half, downing Saint Joseph's, 53-42, on Sunday afternoon at La Roche University.Â
- The win lifted the Dukes (16-7, 6-4) to their third-consecutive and sixth victory over its past eight games.
- Libby Bazelak recorded a game-high 19 points, draining five 3-pointers on just seven attempts. The five triples is a career-high for Bazelak and matches a Duquesne season-best with Paige Cannon's five treys against Akron on Dec. 4. The junior from Kettering, Ohio added five rebounds, a pair of assists and just two turnovers in 39:23 of action.
- Laia Solé also reached double-figures with 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting, earning four rebounds and posted three steals for the second consecutive game.
STAT CHECK
- After knocking down 5-of-7 attempts from long range against Saint Joseph's, Libby Bazelak now ranks second nationally in 3-point field goal percentage (48.1 percent). Only Northwestern's Abi Sceid (50.5) has drained triples at a more efficient rate this season than Bazelak. Sceid is a senior center, as Bazelak is the most efficient guard and underclassmen in the category.
- Burt seeks his 150th career win on Wednesday, compiling a career record of 149-74. He would be the fastest in school history to accomplish the feat.
- Amanda Kalin is just one point away from 500 career points. She would become the fourth Duke this season (Bazelak, Paige Cannon, Laia Solé) to surpass 500 points.
- Over its last six games, Duquesne has buckled down defensively, allowing just 54 points per game in the span. The Dukes have forced opponents to shoot 34.8 percent from the field and 24.5 percent from 3-point range since Jan. 18. Duquesne has went 5-1 in those games, outscoring the opponents by an average margin of 9.7 points per game. The lone loss came on the road to Saint Louis (53-50), which drained a shot with just seconds remaining to earn the tightly fought battle.
- Despite not having an on-campus arena this season, the Dukes are now 8-2 at 'home' sites which include La Roche University (7-1) PPG Paints Arena (0-1) and Oakland Catholic High School (1-0). The Dukes have outscored its opponents by an average margin of 12.1 points per game at home. Duquesne has one regular-season game remaining at La Roche, one at PPG Paints Arena and its final home game of the season at Robert Morris. Â
- In eight games at La Roche, three different Dukes have shot above 50 percent from the field, including Johnson (60 percent), Bazelak (57.3 percent, 57.1 percent 3PT), Kalin (55.4 percent). Overall the Dukes have made 46.4 percent of its field goal attempts at La Roche, including over 40 percent from 3-point land (40.5 percent).
- In the Dukes' seven losses this season, four have come by five points or less. Only Temple, Oklahoma State and Dayton have defeated the Dukes more than six points this season.
- Among all home tenants at La Roche's Kerr Fitness Center this season, Duquesne women's basketball (7-1), Duquesne men's basketball (3-0), La Roche women's basketball (7-1) and La Roche men's basketball (7-0) have combined for a 24-2 record at home. Only UMass women's basketball and Carnegie Mellon women's basketball (vs. La Roche) have escaped the Kerr Fitness Center with wins.
A LOOK AT THE STANDINGS
- With a 6-4 record, Duquesne is tied with Saint Louis and Davidson for fourth place in the conference with six conference games to go.
SCOUTING RICHMOND
- Under the guidance of first-year head coach Aaron Rousell, the Spiders are 11-13 on the year and 4-6 in Atlantic 10 play.
- The Spiders are coming off a 67-61 road win at La Salle and have won four of its last six contests.
- At the Robins Center this season, Richmond is 6-3, with two of the three losses coming against the top two teams in the Atlantic 10 standings in Dayton (65-51) and crosstown rival VCU (57-42).
- Jaide Hinds-Clarke and Claire Holt lead the squad with 10.9 points per game each. Kate Klimkiewicz adds 10.3 points per contest.
- Hinds-Clarke is also the Spiders' leading rebounder (5.7 rpg), and ranks second in the A-10 in steals per game (2.1).Â
