PITTSBURGH – The Duquesne women's basketball team looks to bounce back on Saturday, when the Dukes (11-6, 1-3) travel to Philadelphia to battle the Saint Joseph's Hawks (7-9, 1-3) for the first of two meetings with SJU this season. The opening tip at Hagan Arena is set for noon.

THE SERIES: The Dukes have won four of the last five meetings against the Hawks, but SJU owns the series by a 43-11 mark, including a 25-2 record at Hagan Arena. Duquesne has taken victories back to Pittsburgh in each of its past two trips to Hawk Hill.
LAST TIME OUT: The Duquesne women's basketball team found success offensively late in the fourth quarter, but it was too late to overcome a sizeable deficit, falling to Dayton, 54-41, on Wednesday night at UD Arena. The Dukes (11-6, 1-3 A10) outscored the Flyers (11-7, 4-0 A10) 17-11 in the fourth quarter and closed the contest on a 13-2 sprint. Freshman Precious Johnson put together her best overall game to date, producing a career-best 16 points (6-12 FG, 4-5 FT), while grabbing six rebounds and connecting on three powerful blocks in just 20 minutes of action. The 16-point output marked the second consecutive game where Johnson established a new career-high in scoring, as she supplied 12 points against La Salle on Jan. 11.
STAT CHECK:
- Since conference play began on Jan. 4, Johnson ranks third on the team in scoring with 9.3 points per game, in just an average of 11.7 minutes in those games. She is shooting at a 63.2 percent clip against A-10 foes.
- Duquesne leads the Atlantic 10 in assist to turnover ratio (1.07), assists (273), and assists per game (16.1). The Dukes are second in the conference in defensive rebounds (29.3 rpg) and scoring offense (71.3 ppg).
- Libby Bazelak ranks first in the A-10 and fourth in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (48 percent), third in both 3-point field goals made (36) and assists per game (4.2) and fourth in both assist to turnover ratio (1.80), assists (72) and 3-point field goals per game (2.12).
- Duquesne is undefeated in games where its opponent turnover the ball more than the Dukes (9-0).
- The Dukes have registered 72-plus points in 14 of 17 games this season.
SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S:
- After earning a 67-56 victory in its A10 opener, the Hawks have fallen in three consecutive conference matches to VCU (47-40), UMass (61-43) and Rhode Island (49-47).
- The Hawks excel on the defensive end, leading the conference in points allowed per game (54.3), which ranks 13th nationally. Specifically defending the arc, the Hawks rank 12th in the country in 3-point field goal defense, allowing just 25.2 percent of attempts to be successful.
- Katie Jekot leads the squad in scoring with 10.6 points per contest.
- Gabby Smalls averages a team-best 6.1 rebounds per game.
