ORLANDO, Fla. - Duquesne saw its eight-match winning streak snapped in the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals on Thursday night, as the fourth-seeded Dukes fell to No. 5 Davidson by a score of 4-0 at the USTA National Campus.
The Dukes drop to 15-7 while the Wildcats move to 14-10 and advance to the A-10 semifinals to take on top-seeded VCU on Saturday.
Davidson earned the doubles point with triumphs at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
The Wildcats then sealed the shutout win with victories at No. 4, No. 3 and No. 5 singles.
Julianne Herman won the first set at No. 1 singles and
Margot Pessy took the first set at No. 6 singles, but were not finished before Davidson captured the win.
