Duquesne placed fourth at the James Brown Invitational at AMF Towson Lanes in Towson, Md. over the weekend. The Dukes finished with a 9-3 record, including wins over a pair of Top 10 teams.

Duquesne opened by going 4-0 in Friday's baker matches, topping 1000 in back-to-back wins over Morgan State (1027-964) and sixth-ranked UMES (1021-963). DU also pulled out a 996-994 decision over Howard before closing the day with a 916-786 victory over Coppin State. The Dukes finished with a 4851 total and 194.0 average per game.

On Saturday, Duquesne went 4-1 in traditional play with sophomore Olivia Farwell leading the way with a 206.6 average. Sarah Kirkpatrick added a 187.4 average for DU which posted a team-high 987 in its 987-866 win over Felician.

Duquesne, seeded third entering Sunday's Championship round, defeated No. 8 ranked Fairleigh Dickinson (4th seed) 4-1, before falling to No. 12 Delaware State (2nd seed), 1-4. FDU defeated the Dukes 2-4 in the position round.

Individually, sophomore Olivia Farwell was named to the First Team All-Tournament Team for the second-straight week. Farwell's 206.6 average was fourth-best in the field. Kirkpatrick's 187.4 ranked 22nd and Allison Hresko's 182.6 average placed her 28th individually.

The Dukes will busy again next weekend at the second NEC meet of the season beginning Friday at Berks Lanes in Reading, Pa.
