PITTSBURGH – The Duquesne women's basketball looks to extend its winning streak to an even 10 games on Friday, when the Dukes (9-2) host the Kennesaw State Owls (5-4) at 7:00 p.m. at La Roche University.

THE SERIES: Friday's matchup with the Owls is the first time the programs will square off against one another.
LAST TIME OUT:  Down 11 points with 8:57 left in the fourth quarter, the Duquesne women's basketball team came back to force overtime and eventually won in the extra period, as the Dukes (9-2) earned its ninth consecutive victory with a 72-69 win over the Saint Francis University Red Flash (2-7) on Sunday afternoon at La Roche University. Laia Solé exploded for 38 points in the victory, a Dan Burt era record and the most points by a Duke since Duquesne legend Korie Hlede registered a school-record 42 points on Feb. 11, 1998 against Dayton at the Palumbo Center. Solé's 17 field goals made are the second most in school history. Amy Alger set the record in the City Game against Pitt in 1988, while Hlede tallied 18 field goals against Rhode Island in 1995.
ROAD WARRIORS:Â The Dukes have held their own an opponents' courts this season, posting a 6-1 record on the road. The Dukes are tied with UConn (6-0) and Loyola Chicago (6-0) for the second most road wins this season. Only Cleveland State (7-1) has more wins on the road this season among 348 teams at the Division I level.
THE STREAK:Â Duquesne's current winning trend of nine consecutive games are the most since the Dukes reeled off 15 straight wins in the 2015-16 campaign - a season that saw the Dukes an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history. Duquesne has not lost in 41 days, and have posted an average margin win of 13.6 points per game. Six different players average between 7.2 points per game and 13.7 points per game in that span in a balanced offensive effort.
STAT CHECK:Â Laia Solé recorded the most points by a Duke in 21 years in the Dukes' last game against Saint Francis, dropping 38 points on 17-25 shooting from the field. Only Korie Hlede (5x), Amy Alger (1x) and Darcie Vincent (2x) have scored 38 points or more in a game. Hlede holds the school record with 42 points against Dayton on Feb. 11, 1998. She also registered 41 points against Rhode Island on Jan. 8, 1995. Alger posted 39 against Pitt in the City Game on Dec. 28, 1998, while Darcie Vincent connected on 39 points against both Valparaiso (11/23/90) and American (11/24/91). Hlede poured in 38 points on three separate occasions (2/8/97 vs. Dayton, 1/8/98 vs. Dayton and 1/27/98 vs. Virginia Tech).

THE WORLD WIDE LEADER: ESPN has recognized the Dukes as a 12th seed in its latest bracketology by Charlie Creme. The Dukes have also appeared on ESPNW's mid-major rankings, ranking ninth.
SCOUTING KSU: The Owls are coached by longtime Pitt coach Agnus Berenato (2003-13) who is currently her fourth season at Kennesaw State. Berenato has posted a combined 475 wins in her head coaching career at Rider (1982-85), Georgia Tech (1989-2013) Pitt and Kennesaw State (2016-present). The Owls enter Friday night's matchup with a 5-4 record, falling to Georgia Tech – Berenato's former team – 63-47 at Kennesaw. The Owls excel at the stripe, ranking 15th nationally and second in the Atlantic Sun in free throw percentage (78.3). Alexis Poole is among the best in the conference in scoring (2nd, 15.9 ppg) and rebounding (3rd, 8.9). Amani Johnson averages 3.6 assists per game, which is second best in the conference.
