MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – Twentieth-ranked Duquesne had a solid overall performance in finishing in a tie for second at Northeast Conference Meet #1 held over the weekend at ABC West Lanes in Mechanicsburg, Pa.
The Dukes (27-11, 4-2 NEC), the lone team to score over 900 in all six baker matches, posted wins over #16 Saint Francis U (967-857), #9 Fairleigh Dickinson (940-896), #11 Sacred Heart (992-936) and St. Francis Brooklyn (923-853) in going 4-2.
DU's six-match 5,654 pin total was second only to Fairleigh Dickinson's 5,662, and Duquesne's 188.5 average was also the second-highest of the seven competing teams. The Dukes are behind only #24 LIU (5-1) in the NEC standings with the next NEC Meet set for Dec. 6 at Colony Park North Lanes in York, Pa.

Crystal Elliott and
Olivia Farwell started all six matches in the second through fifth spots for the Dukes, with
Megan Cook staring five times and
Sarah Kirkpatrick getting the nod vs. Sacred Heart.
The Dukes are idle until heading to Millsboro, Delaware, to take part in the Hawk Classic Invitational hosted by Maryland Eastern Shore on Nov. 22-24 at Millsboro Lanes.
