NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - After turning away 10 shots and recording a shutout against Illinois State, junior goalkeeper
Kyra Murphy has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Murphy led the Dukes to a 1-0 win over ISU, the defending Missouri Valley Conference champions on Friday.
On the season, she has recorded two shutouts and moved into sole possession of second place on Duquesne's all-time shutout list with 14.
Murphy earns her third A-10 weekly honor. She was the league's Rookie of the Week on Oct. 26, 2015 and Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 3, 2016.
The Dukes (2-2-0) host a pair of matches this weekend -- Friday against Xavier and Sunday against Seton Hall.
