QUICK RECAP:
Duquesne scored twice in the second half, but it wasn't enough to overcome a three-goal first half deficit in a 3-2 defeat at Wright State. The win upped WSU's record to 3-1, while DU fell to 1-2. A pair of freshmen got the Dukes on the board in the 61st minute when Zach Hall took a cross from Ryan Landry on the far right side of the six-yard box and bounced a shot by WSU's Ryan Pignatiello to make it 3-1. The Dukes cut it to one when Fredrik Borenstein took a cross from Ian Larson at the far right post and headed it by Pignatiello in the 73rd minute. The Dukes, who outshot the Raiders 6-3 in the second half, kept the pressure on WSU, but could not find the back of the net again before time expired. Wright State opened the scoring in the 38th minute when Peguy Ngatcha took a cross from Zach Zwiesler and beat Evan Kozlawski to the short left side for his fourth goal of the season. It looked as though WSU had struck again five minutes later, however Jalim Bayo's goal was negated by an offside call to keep the score 1-0. In the 29th minute, Zwiesler found the back left of the net off a pass from Jackson Dietrich, and less than one minute later, Eric Lynch beat Duquesne to a ball in the box and put it by Kozlowski to make it 3-0. Kozlowski, who finished with six saves, denied Tristan Lyle, who broke free and came in alone with just over 10 minutes left in the half. Kozlowski made another beautiful punch save of a WSU point blank attempt early in the second half to keep the Dukes in it. Wright State finished with an 11-9 advantage in total shots (9-5 in shots on goal). Duquesne had six corners to four for WSU.

DUQUESNE HEAD COACH CHASE BROOKS:
"That was certainly a tale of two halves. As a program we have to learn that at this level of soccer you have to come ready to play every night. Every game is an absolute fight for 90 minutes. You can't take plays off. We need to take the energy we had in the second half and learn how to apply it for an entire game. When we learn to do that, good things will happen."
