@DuqWTennis Falls in A-10 Quarterfinals

CINCINNATI - The Duquesne women's tennis team's season came to an end on Friday afternoon after an extremely hard fought 4-2 loss to Davidson in the quarterfinal round of the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship.

The event, which was originally scheduled to be played outdoors, was moved indoors due of inclement weather in the Cincinnati area.

The match started out with the doubles point. The #1 team of Julianne Herman and Kylie Isaacs defeated Ally Sexton and Anna Catherine Fester 6-1 and the #3 team of Alexa Miller and Megan Wasson clinched the point with a 6-2 win over Gabrielle Centenari and Megan Scholvinck.

In singles, Davidson tied the match with a win at #5 singles - Elaina Cummer over Megan Wasson, 6-3, 6-2.

The Wildcats went up 3-1 after Feaster defeated Isaacs at #1 singles 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 and Centenari was a winner over Herman at #2 singles 6-4, 6-7(11), 5-0 (ret.).

The Dukes closed the gap with Maddy Adams' straight set win over Scholvinck at #3 7-5, 7-6(3).

However the match was decided at #6 singles when Jenna Brunner recorded a split set win over Ally Miller 7-6(4), 3-6, 6-4.

The Dukes end the season with a program record 16 wins. Davidson advances to the semifinals to play #7 seed George Washington, who upset #2 seed Massachusetts.
