The Duquesne women's tennis team split a pair of matches this weekend, defeating Saint Joseph's before falling to Davidson. Both matches were played at the Saint Joseph's tennis courts in Philadelphia.
The Dukes were 6-1 winners over the Hawks. The match started out with a doubles sweep. Kylie Isaacs and Julianne Herman were 6-2 winners at #1. Megan Wasson and Sarah Shashura won at #2 6-1 and Alexa Miller and Maddy Adams won at #3 6-1.
Duquesne won five of the singles matches, all in straight sets. Isaacs at #1 6-3, 6-3. Herman and #2 6-3, 6-3. Alexa Miller at #3 6-1, 6-2. Adams at #4 7-5, 6-3 and Wasson at #5 6-4, 6-3. Ally Miller battled hard at #6 winning the first set 6-2 before dropping the second set 7-5. In the breaker, SJU's Anne Marie Devlin came out on top 15-13.
Against Davidson, the Wildcats were 4-0 winners. They opened with match by winning the doubles point and took wins at #1, #5 and #6 singles. Davidson's Anna C. Feaster handed Duquesne's Kylie Isaacs her first singles loss of the spring at #1 6-1, 6-0.
