Lindsey Boldt Joins @DuqWSoccer Staff

July 6, 2015

PITTSBURGH - Duquesne women's soccer head coach Al Alvine has announced the hiring of Lindsey Boldt as assistant coach.

"We're really excited about what Lindsey will bring to our program," said Alvine. "Her ability to develop and train our goalkeepers will be a big part of her job here at Duquesne but she'll bring so much more to the position. She'll be heavily involved in every aspect of managing the team. I know all of our players and staff will be very impressed by what she has to offer Duquesne women's soccer."

Boldt, who will work primarily with the Dukes' keepers, comes to the Bluff after spending the 2014 season at Point Park University.

Prior to PPU, Boldt spent three years at Davidson. With the Wildcats, Boldt coached Rachel Locke whose 1.00 GAA in 2011 was the fifth best single-season mark in program history. For her efforts, Locke was named to the All-SoCon Freshman Team .

Before coaching at Davidson, Boldt was at the University of South Carolina Upstate for one season. She coached goalkeeper Rachel Collins, who was named to the Atlantic Sun All-Freshman Team and broke several USCU records as a first-year player.

Prior to her tenure at USCU, Boldt began her coaching career as a graduate assistant at Gardner-Webb where she earned a master's in 2010 in sport science and pedagogy. Boldt helped develop two goalkeepers, who earned all-league honors as Chelsea Hearne earned All-Big South Second Team honors in 2010 after recording 101 saves and a 1.02 goals against average, and Sami Rupert was a Big South All-Freshman goalkeeper in 2009. Rupert has a GAA of 1.10. That same year, Boldt assisted the team to its best finish in program history as a Division I program in 2009, going 12-9-0 and 6-3-0 in the Big South.

As a player, Boldt was a four-year letterwinner at the University of Iowa as a goalkeeper. She was a two-time recipient of the team's Most Inspirational Award (2005 & 2006) and also earned All-Big Ten Academic honors three times: 2006, 2007 and 2008. She also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors in 2007.

Boldt's senior year at Iowa saw her start the first 13 matches in goal for the Hawkeyes, before a season-ending injury ended her playing career. She still finished the season ranked fourth in the Big Ten in goals-against-average (0.86), third in save percentage (.810), and tied for fourth in shutouts (six).

A 2008 graduate of Iowa, Boldt earned a bachelor's degrees in both communication studies and sports studies.
