Atlantic 10 Release

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference has announced that freshman keeper Kyra Murphy has been named the league's Rookie of the Week.

Murphy recorded shutouts in wins over Massachusetts and Rhode Island last week. In the two matches, she made eight saves and earned her fifth shutout of the season. She has played 204 straight scoreless minutes. Her 1.24 goals against average is 7th in the A-10 and her save percentage of .766 ranks 8th.

She becomes the third Dukes player to win Rookie of the Week, joining Katie O'Connor (09/08) and Kristen Kotsopoulos (08/24).

The Dukes (9-8-0, 4-4-0 A-10) wrap up the regular season at Dayton on Thursday and at La Salle on Sunday.
