#DuqWSoccer Prepares for Season Opener Against Saint Francis

GAME INFORMATION
The Duquesne women's soccer team kicks off its 20th season as a program on Friday night when they host Saint Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Rooney Field. Admission is free.

ABOUT THE DUKES
Head coach Al Alvine is starting his second season and is coming off a 6-11-2 2012 season, which doubled the team's win total from 2011. Junior keeper Devon Tabata was named to the Atlantic 10 Conference Preseason All-Conference Team and freshman Ashley Nater and Olivia Roberson were picked for the Preseason All-Rookie Team.

SCOUTING THE RED FLASH
Head coach Brenda van Stralen is in her 10th season and is coming off a 14-5-2 2012 season which includes a perfect 10-0-0 record in the Northeast Conference. The Red Flash lost in the NEC Championship game to LIU-Brooklyn. Senior forward Tesa McKibben is a three time NEC Player of the Year and is the NCAA's active leading scorer.

THE SERIES
Beginning in 1994, the teams have split the 15-game series with seven wins apiece and one tie. This season marks the sixth straight year Dukes and Red Flash have played each other.

NEXT HOME MATCH
The Dukes will host cross-town rival Pittsburgh on Sunday. Kickoff is at 3:00 p.m. on Rooney Field.
