Dukes Place Fifth at A-10 Track & Field Championship

Results

Led by Jim Spisak's 11 points, thirteen different Dukes scored team points as Duquesne men's track and field team placed fifth of 11 teams at the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championship.

Spisak finished third in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:32.25 for six team points and placed fourth in the 1,500 in 3:48.79 for five points.

Three Dukes accounted for five points with Chuck Lockwood taking fourth in the 10,000 meter run in 30:31.52, Shakeil Carter placing fourth in the 100 meter dash in 10.85 and V.J. DeFreitas finishing fifth in the long jump and eighth in the triple jump.

There were four DU student-athletes who scored four points at the event. They were Aaron Fitzpatrick in the 400, Cam Stauffer in the steeplechase, Mike Stolar in the 10K and Ian Welch in the triple jump.

The three Duquesne relays combined to score 11 points, led by the 4x100 and 4x800 which each finished fourth.

Several Dukes who have qualifed for the IC4A Championship, will return to action May 11-13 to compete in the event helod at Princeton.
