The DU men's tennis team recently wrapped up play at the Ball State Invitational. Pete Carpenter won his first three matches to advance to the semifinals of the Flight A signles bracket.
Carpenter downed opponents from Louisville, Northern Illinois and IUPUI before falling to the eventual bracket runner-up from Louisville. Alex Aleman went 2-2 in flight A, dropping his initial match, then winning his next two.
"I was very pleased to see Pete continue to play well against some very good competition this tournament and reach the semi's of the A bracket, said head coach Rob Castille. "I also was happy with how Alex played and feel he is getting stronger every day."
"This was a very good test for us as a team and I think we will use this as motivation to work even harder then we have been. It highlighted several things that we need to fix and I know my guys will do what it takes to correct those things and we will be better moving forward."
The Dukes return to action on Saturday, Sept. 8 as they face Robert Morris at 9:00 am and Carnegie Mellon at 4:00 pm. Both matches will be played at CMU.
