NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Duquesne sophomore defender Michelle Mooren (Parma, Ohio/Holy Name) was named Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week after she scored both game-winning goals in the Dukes' wins over Fordham and La Salle this past weekend.
She scored her first career goal in 32nd minute in DU's 2-0 shutout victory over Fordham on Oct. 15th and broke a 1-1 tie in 75th minute on a direct kick in Duquesne's 2-1 victory over La Salle on Oct. 17.
Mooren becomes the second Duquesne player to be honored by the A-10 this season. Senior keeper Gabby Morrin was named Co-Player of the Week on Sept. 6th.
Duquesne (7-6-1, 4-1-0 A-10) is off to its best conference start since 2005 heading into Friday's match against A-10 leader Dayton (14-2-0, 6-0-0 A-10). Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
