Samantha Pollino led Duquesne with 16 points and nine rebounds.
A Keri Pryor layup gave the Dukes an early 9-5 advantage, but the lead was short lived as WVU came back with a 13-0 run to go ahead 18-9 at the 11:16 mark of the first half.

The second half opened with Pollino, Jaclyn Babe and Alex Gensler hitting 3-pointers, but could only cut the deficit to 17 points, 45-28, at the 16:35 mark.

The Dukes closed out the game on a 15-4 run as Carly Vendemia scored the final four points for DU.
"We had a lot of confidence after the first media timeout," said head coach Suzie McConnell-Serio. "I have to credit the West Virginia defense for being disruptive. To beat a team like West Virginia, you have to play well for 40 minutes."
