The Duquesne University men's tennis team opened the 2008-09 season with a second place showing at the Toledo Rocket Invitational. The Dukes won 10 of its 11 head-to-head matches, falling to just the host Rockets while defeating Dayton, Denison, Indiana State and Wright State.

Junior Mark Maciuch went 8-0 at the event, winning all four of his singles and doubles matches while sophomores Steve Herchko and Zachary Skorupka each went 6-0.

The Dukes return to action on October 3 as they compete in the three-day Ball State Fall Invitational.
