Duquesne University men's tennis coach Rob Castille recently announced the addition of two student-athletes to the 2008-09 roster. Sophomore transfer Kyle O'Leary (St. Louis, Mo./Lindbergh (Hartford)) and freshman Rafael Santiago (San Juan, PR/Academia del Perpetuo Socorro) are the newest Dukes.
O'Leary comes to Duquesne after one year of action at the University of Hartford where he posted identical 3-6 records in singles and doubles play. In high school, he was a four-time state qualifier and district champion. He was also a four-time All-Metro selection and team MVP as well as a two-year captain and state finalist in doubles as a senior.
Santiago was a team co-captain, playing in the first and second position in the line-up. He posted a 9-1 singles record and a 6-1 doubles mark en route to Player of the Year honors. His team was regular season champions with an 11-0 record and was also play-off finalists.
