Results
The Duquesne men's track and field team traveled to Bucknell this weekend for the Bison Outdoor Invitational.
Junior Derek Dutille finished second overall and was the top college finisher in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with an NCAA Regional qualifying time of 9:00.90. Also turning in a qualifying time was freshman Mike Stolar, who finished eighth in the 10,000 meter run with an IC4A qualifying time of 30:47.65.
The 4x100 meter relay team, consisting of freshmen Cedric Love, Greg D'Antonio, Aaron Fitzpatrick and Chris Peppler finished fifth with a time of 43.35, 1/100th of a second off the school record pace. Fitzpatrick was also close to breaking another school record, running the 400 meter dash in 49.69, 0.23 shy of the school record time while D'Antonio missed a school record by 1/10th of a second with an 11.18 in the 100 meter dash.
The 4x800 meter relay team of junior Tim Majewski, sophomore Kyle Reeping, freshman Cole Klinchock and Mark Bucklaw placed second with a season-best time of 7:51.31.
Earlier in the week, a few Dukes competed in the CMU Tri-Meet at Carnegie-Mellon University. Fitzpatrick turned in Duquesne's best time of the season in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 57.01 while freshman
Jason Jasko had the best high jump of 2008 with a 6-00.75 leap. Others turning in season-best performances were D'Antonio with a long jump of 21-03.50, freshman
Alex Federinko with a triple jump of 42-06.00 and junior
Ryan Miller with a hammer throw of 159-05.
The Dukes return to action on Saturday, April 19 as they travel back to Lewisburg, Pa. for the Bucknell Team Challenge.
