Fourth-year head coach James Walker saw his Dukes go 2-0 in pre-season play taking Robert Morris 5-0 on Wednesday on Rooney Field and host Pitt 2-1 Saturday afternoon.
In the Red & Blue's final scrimmage of the pre-season, senior Amber Paul notched the "game-winning goal" from junior Faye Rasmussen with :17 ticking to give the Dukes a 2-1 edge over host Pitt Saturday afternoon at Founder's Field. Rasmussen recorded the Dukes' first goal of the game from junior Audra Mathews - a 2006 Atlantic 10 Pre-Season All-Conference pick.
Duquesne, which posted a University-record 10 wins last season, have been ranked 15th in the Soccer Buzz Magazine Mid-Atlantic pre-season poll. The Dukes open the season Aug. 25 and 26 at the Vermont Tournament.
