DeLand, Fla. - Stetson men's tennis (8-3) downed Duquesne 6-1 Monday at the Hatters' Mandy Stoll Tennis Center in the Dukes' first contest of their week of spring matches in Florida.

Senior Devon Peightal (Fairview, PA / Cathedral Prep) was the lone Duke with a singles win. He was beating Marcus Echtler 2-4, when the Fla. native retired from the match.

The Dukes' (6-7) next opponent is Division II Eckerd College at their campus in St. Petersburg, Fla., Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 2:00 p.m.
