Recap | Box Score | Notes
Duquesne Head Coach Jerry Schmitt:
- "This is a is a fantastic feeling ... to come back to Duquesne and get a win."
On the play of Scott Knapp:
- "Going into the first series I was very concerned. I talked to my offensive coordinator [Mauro Monz] about making sure we eased Scott into it. After that first series, I didn't even know he was a freshman. Our offensive line and backs did a good job of picking up blitzes and protecting him."
On the play of the defense:
- "Coach Bernard [Defensive coordinator] and his staff did an outstanding job of containing Robert Morris, which is tough to do because they are so explosive."
Duquesne Quarterback Scott Knapp:
- "Just like anyone else, I had some butterflies. We had a great gameplan and we knew what to expect. For the most part we just executed. I felt coming into the second half we had to score on our first or second drive to put them away."
Duquesne Defensive Tackle Josh Antinopoulos:
- "We really wanted to come out strong. We wanted our defense on the field first. We had a chip on our shoulder from last season. Three-and-outs are what we shoot for every time. Coach Schmitt came out and called a great game. We are all happy for him. Scott Knapp played great. I don't think he threw a bad pass all day. He looked excellent."
