Dukes take three-game win streak into homestand

Duquesne returns to Rooney Field riding a three-game winning streak, welcoming crosstown rival Robert Morris for the first of two consecutive home games. The Dukes have found their stride offensively, scoring at least 40 points in each of their last two NEC contests, including a 41-14 road victory over New Haven last week. Duquesne has also been strong at home against conference opponents, winning seven of its last eight NEC games at Rooney Field, and owns a 10-2 all-time home record against the Colonials. Robert Morris enters looking to rebound from a 49-14 loss at Central Connecticut State, having split its first four conference games. The Colonials feature one of the NEC's top passing attacks, led by quarterback Carson Haggard, who ranks among the FCS top 20 in both passing yards and touchdown passes. That sets up a key matchup against a Duquesne defense that leads the NEC and ranks top-15 nationally in passing defense, allowing just 177.3 yards per game.

The local rivalry resumed in 2024 after Robert Morris returned to the NEC following four seasons in the Big South/OVC. Duquesne has won both meetings since the renewal, taking a 31-6 decision at Rooney Field in 2024 before earning a 20-17 road victory last season on Matt Clark's game-winning field goal as time expired. The programs previously met annually from 2003-19, and the Dukes have won eight of the last nine matchups and 13 of 17 under head coach Jerry Schmitt.

Duquesne's 35-point fourth quarter against Wagner in its last home game was the program's highest-scoring fourth quarter as an FCS member. The Dukes' 52 points against Wagner were the most by an NEC team against a Division I opponent this season.
