Duquesne University seniors Kristen Micsky (Greenville, Pa./Reynolds) and Sarah Fetterman (Elysburg, Pa./Southern Columbia) have been named to the 10-member Outdoor Track & Field Atlantic 10 All-Academic list. Voting was conducted among the Conference's sports information directors. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average and be an important part of the team.
Micsky earns her first A-10 All-Academic laurel boasting a 3.46 GPA in occupational therapy. She was tabbed the 2005 Atlantic 10 outdoor Most Outstanding Field Performer after capturing the A-10 individual titles in the long jump, triple jump and 400 meter hurdles. She also took silver in the high jump and bronze as a member of the 4 x 400 meter relay - medaling in each of her events. The ECAC qualifier in the triple and high jumps guided Duquesne to a university-best second-place finish at the A-10 championships and posted the A-10's top marks this year in the triple (38' 11.75') and long jumps (18' 7") and tied for first in the high jump (5' 7"). She is a member of 4 x 400 meter relay which had the third-best time in the Conference and set a new Duquesne record (3:53.32). She also holds Duquesne top-time this season in the 400 hurdles (1:03.07). Micsky is the Duquesne outdoor record holder in the long jump and 4 x 400 meter relay and the indoor record holder as a member of the 4 x 400 meter relay. She is a member of the Dean's List, Director of Athletics' and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Rolls. Micsky served as Vice President of her Occupational Therapy class as a junior and is a member of the Student Occupational Therapy Association.
Fetterman takes her second outdoor A-10 All-Academic citation and the fifth overall as she was a three-time indoor all-academic honoree. Fetterman is the 2005 A-10 outdoor champion in the pole vault with her mark of 11' 5.75", which was seven inches higher than the second-place finisher. The ECAC qualifier posted the second-best vault performance in the A-10 outdoor season this year and won silver in the vault at the 2005 A-10 indoor championship. She has established herself as the Dukes' all-time vault specialist bettering her own school record marks each season and concluded her Duquesne career with an outdoor top mark of 11' 9.00" and a height of 11' 6.00" for the indoor slate. The Pharmacy major boasts a 3.97 GPA. Fetterman reigned as the 2004 A-10 outdoor champion in the pole vault as well and was a 2003-04 ECAC qualifier and NCAA regional participant in the vault. She was named a 2003-04 ESPN the Magazine District 2 Academic All-America and is a member of Omicron Delta kappa National Honor Society, Kappa Epsilon Pharmacy Fraternity, served as VP of the Integrated Honor Society and is a member of the Academy of Management Pharmacy. Fetterman is on the Dean's List, Director of Athletics' and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and was named Duquesne's 2004-05 Female Student-Athlete of the Year.
Duquesne's two honors are second to only Rhode Island, which boasted three all-academic accolades.
