Freshman Steve New's time of 10:07.60 was good for third place in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at Saturday's Indiana University of Pennsylvania Open. Another frosh, E.J. Robertson, put in an 800 meter time of 1:55.98 that was ? second off the third place mark and 1? seconds short of the school record of 1:54.39 set this year by sophomore Gary Malinko at the Western Pa. Intercollegiate Championships.

The Dukes, who also competed in this week's Penn Relays, next head to Richmond, Virginia for the 2004 Atlantic 10 Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Sat-Sun, May 1-2, 2004.
