First year Head Coach James Walker released today his 2003 women's soccer schedule. Home clashes with 2002 NCAA participants and Atlantic 10 rivals Richmond and Dayton highlight the 20-match slate, which begins Aug. 29-31 at the Akron Tournament.
The Dukes will face Howard in the opening contest at Akron followed by a match-up with either the host Zips or IPFW. Duquesne will then travel to Youngstown State Sept. 3 and St. Francis Sept. 7 before opening the home season with a bout with cross-town rival Robert Morris on Sept. 10.
The Atlantic 10 season begins Sept. 26 as Duquesne plays host to St. Bonaventure and the annual game with the Big East's Pitt is slated for Sept. 28 on Rooney Field as well.
Duquesne will also travel to league rival Rhode Island Oct. 26, which finished the A-10 regular season ranked first and advanced to the NCAA championship.
The season wraps-ups at the Atlantic 10 Championships where the top four seeds vie for the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Richmond will host this year's championships Nov. 7-9.
