At the Tee Box
- For the first time in program history, the Duquesne University women's golf team hosts a tournament, as the Dukes welcome six teams to Sewickley Heights Golf Club for the Golf Galaxy Collegiate. The tournament begins Monday with 36 holes before concluding Tuesday with the final round of 18, with Bucknell, Marshall, Mercyhurst, Niagara, Saint Francis and Towson joining the Dukes in the field.
- Earlier this month, Duquesne
announced a partnership with Golf Galaxy, a premier specialty golf retailer focused on supporting the women's golf program. Through the sponsorship,
Golf Galaxy will assist the team with access to custom gear and the latest technology while serving as the title sponsor of the program's inaugural home tournament.
- The Dukes opened their 2026-27 campaign by
finishing 17th at the Nittany Lion Invitational in University Park, Pa., on the Penn State Blue Course. Duquesne closed the 54-hole tournament with a score of 933 (315, 309, 309).
- Leading the Dukes at the Nittany Lion Invitational was junior
Sasha Petrochko, who handed in a 226 (+10). She opened with a 77 before carding a 74 in round two and a 75 in the final round.
- Just three days after the completion of the Nittany Lion Invitational, Duquesne was back in action, closing with a 920 (318, 300, 302) to finish
in a tie for seventh at the Bucknell Fall Invitational. Junior
Katie Fodale led the Dukes, posting the best 54-hole score of her career at 221 (78, 72, 71).
- The Dukes return seven of their eight golfers from last season, including junior
Sasha Petrochko. A two-time Atlantic 10 All-Conference honoree, Petrochko also was named to the 2026 Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team.
- Petrochko is the only golfer for Duquesne to have played all 48 rounds over the last three years and owns a career scoring average of 75.938 for the Dukes. In 18 career tournaments, Petrochko owns nine finishes in the top 10, including four in the top five.
- Junior
Abby Slankster finished as the top individual for Duquesne at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship, just missing the top 10 by carding a 240 (84, 79, 77). She closed the tournament in 11th individually.
- Duquesne established program standards in its second season of NCAA Division I competition in both a 36-hole and 54-hole tournament during the 2025 fall portion of its schedule. The 620 at the Red Flash Invitational is the best score for the Dukes in a 36-hole event, while at the Bucknell Fall Invitational to open the year Duquesne handed in a 929 over 54 holes.
- In her third season as head coach at Duquesne is
Colleen Meyers, who was selected to lead the program in August of 2023. She spent two seasons as an assistant coach with Carnegie Mellon from 2021 to 2023 and also was the head coach at Oakland Catholic High School from 2015 to 2023.
- Women's golf was added in April of 2022 at Duquesne along with triathlon and acrobatics & tumbling. Triathlon made its debut during the 2023-24 season and is in its fourth season, while both women's golf and acrobatics & tumbling are in its third season of competition, respectively, in 2026-27.
- Sewickley Heights Golf Club serves as the home of Duquesne golf. Founded in 1961, the course is used for practice for the program and has also hosted the United States Women's Amateur in 1966 and the Champion's Pittsburgh Senior Classic in 1998.
