Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University women's golf team continued its 2026-27 season in Lewisburg, Pa., by closing in a tie for seventh with Le Moyne at the Bucknell Fall Invitational. Over the course of 54 holes, the Dukes posted a score of 920 (318, 300, 302), marking the program's best score in program history.
 
TEAM LEADERBOARD
The host Bison claimed the team crown at the Bucknell Fall Invitational, finishing two strokes ahead of Columbia. Bucknell carded an 860 (294, 281, 285), while the Lions finished at 862 (292, 284, 286). Fairleigh Dickinson (890) finished third, with Columbia B (894) and UAlbany (898) rounding out the top five. Bucknell's B team finished sixth with a score of 910 in a field that featured 16 programs.
 
ESPECIALLY IN MICHIGAN
Junior Katie Fodale logged the best tournament of her career at the Bucknell Fall Invitational, earning a top 15 finish. She closed with a 221 (78, 72, 71), besting her previous career best in 54 holes by 13 strokes. Opening with a 78, Fodale finished just one over par in the second round (72) before hitting par (71) in the third and final round. Over the course of the tournament she logged eight birdies, and on the front nine in each of the second and third rounds she finished one under par with a 35. In the second round, Fodale finished with a birdie on the first hole before posting nine consecutive holes at par. On No. 11 in the second, she added another birdie. Also carding a 221 at the Bucknell Fall Invitational to tie with Fodale was Olivia Seaman of Mercyhurst.
 
THE LINEUP
Junior Sasha Petrochko finished five strokes behind Fodale at the Bucknell Fall Invitational, handing in a 226 (78, 74, 74) over 54 holes to tie for 22nd individually with Callie Taylor of the Great Danes. Petrochko logged six birdies over the tournament, including three on the front nine in the final round. Junior Abby Slankster closed the Bucknell Fall Invitational with a 233 (80, 75, 78), while sophomore Lilly Powell handed in a 240 (82, 79, 79). Junior Katie Caryl rounded out the lineup for Duquesne, finishing at 247 (83, 76, 86). Playing as an individual for the Dukes, freshman Nicol Chovanec handed in a 240, opening with a 76 before posting an 83 in the second round and an 81 in the final round. Also playing as an individual was junior Paige Meyers, who logged a 245 (83, 76, 86).

Duquesne has participated in the Bucknell Fall Invitational in each of its three years as an NCAA Division I program, improving its 54-hole score by 24 strokes since the Dukes debuted in 2024 ... Duquesne finished at 944 over 54 holes at the 2024 Bucknell Fall Invite, followed by a 929 last season ... Fodale's previous best tournament of 234 (72, 78, 84) came last year in Lewisburg, Pa. ... Petrochko finished even on the front nine in both rounds two and three ... Slankster finished with three birdies over the course of the tournament, including hole No. 5, a par four, in both the second and third rounds.
 
UP NEXT
A pair of 54-hole tournaments in a week complete, the Dukes will return to the course by hosting their first competition in program history. The Golf Galaxy Collegiate is set for Monday, Sept. 27, and Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Sewickley Heights Country Club.
