Dukes Win 15 Medals; Women Finish Third at ECAC/IC4A Championships

Rorrer named ECAC Most Outstanding Performer as Dukes win six golds on final day

Piscataway, N.J. – The Duquesne University track and field teams capped a standout weekend at the ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Championships on Sunday, finishing with 15 total medals, including 10 gold. The Dukes secured eight medals and six golds on the final day, while the women's team placed third overall with 112.5 points. Junior Anna Rorrer was named ECAC Most Outstanding Performer after winning three gold medals, capturing titles in the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles and running on the first-place 4x400-meter relay. DAY TWO MEDALISTS
Rorrer won the 100-meter hurdles in 13.93 and the 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.01 before helping lead the 4x400-meter relay to gold.

Eva Leatherman earned silver in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.86 and ran the anchor leg on the winning 4x400-meter relay. Melani Schmidt and Selma Bajgoric joined Rorrer and Leatherman on the relay, which clocked 3:48.89.

The men's 4x400-meter relay also captured gold as the Dukes swept the event. Zach Nash, Christian Cupp, Colm McGroarty and Nick Keller combined for a time of 3:15.58. Keller earned his second medal of the weekend after winning the 400 meters on Saturday in a program-record 47.17.

Sophomore Rose Kuchera claimed gold in the triple jump for the second consecutive year, recording a mark of 12.35 meters (40-6.25).

The women's 4x800-meter relay of Cydney Blahovec, Reagan Ryen, Eilidh Edgar and Sylvia Kashak won gold with a time of 9:08.03. It marked Kashak's second gold of the weekend after her personal-best 2:07.94 in the 800 meters on Day One.

On the men's side, Spencer Edey took bronze in the triple jump with a personal-best 15.05 meters (49-4.25), moving to No. 4 on the Duquesne all-time list.

SCORERS
Lauren Stroka added three points with a sixth-place finish in the triple jump (11.60m / 38-0.75).

Colm McGroarty placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles in 55.57, while the men's 4x800-meter relay of Samuel de la Riva, Maxwell Hamilton, Jack Barnhisel and Jadon Rahman finished fourth in 7:40.65. The Duquesne men finished 11th overall with 40 points.

DAY ONE HEADLINES
Duquesne opened the championships with seven medals, including four golds. Nick Keller set a program record in the 400 meters (47.17), while Sylvia Kashak (800 meters), Nadia Constantakis (pole vault) and Makayla Keck (javelin) also won individual titles. Mary Grusky (silver, javelin), Caroline Garbe (bronze, high jump) and Melani Schmidt (bronze, 400 meters) added to the medal total. UP NEXT 
The Dukes are back in action next Saturday at the Saint Francis Father Bede Invitational before heading to the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships on May 2–3.
