Baker Named to 2025-26 NTCA All-America Second Team

Junior is fourth bowler in 10-year history of program to garner All-America honors from NTCA

Pittsburgh, Pa. – Junior Maribeth Baker of the Duquesne University women's bowling team has been named to the 2025-26 National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-America Second Team. The awards were announced in Cleveland, Ohio, in conjunction with the National Championship Banquet.

Baker becomes the fourth member of the Dukes in program history to earn All-America distinction from the NTCA, joining Olivia Farwell (2017-22), Kiearra Saldi (2019-24) and Shannon Small (2020-25).

Farwell was a three-time honoree, earning first team accolades in 2019-20 after being a second team selection in 2018-19 as well as an honorable mention pick in 2017-18. Saldi was a two-time NTCA Honorable Mention All-America recipient, garnering the honor in 2020-21 and 2023-24, while Small was a 2024-25 NTCA Honorable Mention All-America selection.

Baker, a native of York, Pa., was named to the 2026 All-Northeast Conference (NEC) First Team and was also a 2026 All-NEC Tournament Team selection after helping guide Duquesne its first NEC tournament crown and subsequent automatic bid to the NCAA Championship in program history. During the 2026 NEC Championship, Baker led the Dukes with an average frame of 21.65, logged an 85 overall fill percentage and produced a strike percentage of 60 percent (42-of-60).

Overall during the 2025-26 campaign, Baker has logged an average frame of 20.73 to go along with an average of 9.10 on her first ball, an 84.3 overall fill percentage and a 54.8 strike percentage (709-of-1,293). At the 2026 NCAA Championship as part of the Pittsburgh Regional, Baker logged a 20.68 average frame in Baker play to go along with a season-high overall fill percentage of 90.9 percent. She also averaged 20.33 in traditional action at the NCAA Championship.

Named the 2024 NEC Rookie of the Year, Baker was also named a finalist for the 2026 International Bowling Media Association (IBMA) Collegiate Bowler of the Year, presented by Storm Bowling. Winners will be announced prior to the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC) "Night of Champions" banquet.

The Dukes have qualified for the ITC Championships four of the last five seasons and travel to Green Bay, Wisc., for their final postseason competition of the year at Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley. Play begins Tuesday, April 14, and concludes Saturday, April 18.

Led by head coach Jody Fetterhoff, Duquesne has compiled an overall record of 63-45 (.583) this year, including a 17-7 (.708) mark in the NEC as the Dukes claimed a share of the 2026 NEC regular-season championship.
