Pittsburgh, Pa. – For the fourth time in the last five seasons as well as the fifth time overall, the Duquesne University bowling team qualified for the Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC) this weekend at AMF Mt. Lebanon Lanes.

The Dukes sat sixth after the first block of 16 games, trailing Indiana Tech by just three pins and Trine by 14. Duquesne made its move in the second block, beginning a stretch of five consecutive games of 200 or better with a 202 in game 24, followed by a 224 in game 25. Opening the third block Sunday with a weekend-high score of 233 in game 33, the Dukes matched that score in game 54 to keep pace.

Individually for the Dukes as part of the ISC sectional, senior Emma Siekierski just missed advancing to ISC Championships, earning a top 10 finish in ninth place. She knocked down 1,194 total pins over the course of six games, closing just 15 pins shy of moving on. Her best game in the ISC qualifier came in game one when she fired a 238.

Among a field that included 163 participants, junior Maribeth Baker finished in a three-way tie for 39th, collecting a total of 1,116 pins. She tied with Johnna Hill or Morgan State as well as Brooklyn Hannah of Hilbert College.
