Fayetteville, Ark. – Sophomore
Rose Kuchera became the first All-American in Duquesne women's track and field program history on Friday, competing in the long jump at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the University of Arkansas campus.
RESULTS
Kuchera recorded a mark of 5.94 meters (19-6) on her opening attempt that stood as her top jump of the competition, placing 14th overall in the nation and earning Second Team All-America honors.
A native of Canonsburg, Pa., Kuchera also became the first NCAA national championship competitor in Duquesne women's track and field program history, indoors or outdoors.
The NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships is widely regarded as one of the most exclusive NCAA championships, with only the top 16 athletes in each individual event earning qualification to the national meet. Kuchera qualified for the national meet with a Duquesne-record leap of 6.52 meters (21-4.75) at Youngstown State on Jan. 30.
