Youngstown, Ohio – Duquesne sophomore
Rose Kuchera recorded a leap of 6.52 meters (21-4.75) to shatter her own program record in the long jump, highlighting a split-squad weekend for the Dukes at the YSU Mid-Major Invitational and Penn State National Open.
Kuchera's mark — more than 17 inches beyond her previous program record of 6.08 meters (19-11.5), set earlier this season — also established a new YSU Mid-Major Invitational record, stands as the top jump in the Atlantic 10 this year and ranks third in NCAA Division I.
Competing in the pentathlon for the first time in her career, the Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, native delivered a standout performance, finishing third overall with 3,694 points — the third-best pentathlon total in program history. Kuchera added an 8.79 in the 60-meter hurdles, the fourth-fastest time in Duquesne history.
