Box Score BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The Duquesne University football team dropped a 29-11 decision to LIU on Saturday afternoon at Shark Stadium.
The Dukes fell to 5-5 overall and 3-2 in NEC play.
Matt Clark's 20-yard field goal late in the first quarter made it 8-3, before LIU (4-6, 2-3 NEC) added 21 straight points in the middle quarters.
Duquesne struck for eight points in the fourth quarter on an eight-yard touchdown pass from
Tyler Riddell to
Jermaine Johnson, followed by a successful two-point conversion. However, LIU controlled the ball for more than nine minutes in the final period to close out the game.
The Dukes rushed for 203 yards, led by
Ness Davis, who posted 105 yards on a career-high 26 carries and added 36 receiving yards on three catches.
Shawn Solomon, Jr. contributed a 65 rushing yards on 11 carries.
On defense,
Dallas Harper recorded his team-leading third interception of the season, while
Avery Morris paced the tackling with six stops and 1.5 tackles for loss.
Kevin Kurzinger and
Jack Dunkley, who tied a career-high with five tackles, also added 1.5 TFLs.

- The Dukes' defense tallied seven tackles for loss, their fifth straight game with seven or more. Avery Morris, Jack Dunkley, and Kevin Kurzinger led the way with 1.5 each, while Carter Lance added 1.0. Nico Pate, Jabari Odoemenem, and Alex Reese III each contributed 0.5. Dunkley has recorded a TFL in six straight games, Kurzinger in five, and both Pate and Findlayter in two consecutive outings.
- Harper's interception extended Duquesne's takeaway streak to seven consecutive games.
- Davis charted his fourth 100-yard rushing game of the season and fifth of his career.
- B.J. Alexander tied a career high with four receptions, totaling 36 yards.
- Jermaine Johnson hauled in his second touchdown of the season, becoming the fifth Duke with multiple receiving scores this year.
- Matt Clark went 1-for-2 on field goals, converting from 20 yards and missing a 40-yard attempt in the final seconds before halftime.
