Six Dukes Honored by Atlantic 10

Brozeski, Moretti and Seitzinger tabbed All-Academic; Rorrer, Garbe and Pierce earn All-Rookie

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Duquesne University women's track and field team had six student-athletes recognized on the Atlantic 10 Conference Outdoor All-Academic and All-Rookie teams announced this afternoon. Emily Brozeski, Madelyn Moretti and Hannah Seitzinger earned spots on the All-Academic Team, while Anna Rorrer, Caroline Garbe and Mia Pierce were All-Rookie honorees.

Brozeski, Moretti and Seitzinger all won medals at the A-10 Outdoor Championships. Brozeski collected her fourth career medal and third straight gold in the heptathlon. Moretti was named the A-10 Co-Most Outstanding Field Performer with a gold medal in shot put and silver standing in discus. Seitzinger claimed silver in the 800m run and was the anchor on the 4x800m gold-medal winning relay team that set a program record at this season's conference championships. Moretti (shot put) and Seitzinger (800m), who both own the school record in their respective events, were two of three DU athletes to earn a trip to the NCAA Championships this season, the first Dukes to qualify for the regional round since 2016.

Brozeski has been a fixture on the All-Academic Team since 2021. The North Huntingdon, Pa. native completed her Master of Fine Arts/Interaction Design this spring with a 4.0 GPA.

Seitzinger, a senior from Belle Vernon, Pa. who was named to the Indoor All-Academic Team earlier this year for the third time, maintained a 4.0 GPA in the Physician Assistant Studies program.

Moretti, a sophomore nursing major, has secured her first All-Academic recognition with a 3.84 GPA.

Rorrer ran the fastest 400m hurdle time by any first year in the conference with a 1:02.50 in her bronze-medal run at the A-10 Championships.

Garbe, who was also an All-Rookie athlete for indoor season, tied with Fordham's Lexi Fujita for the best outdoor high jump mark of any rookie in the league at 1.58m (5' 2.25"). The Webster, N.Y. product went over 1.58m twice this season, first at George Mason finishing sixth, then placed third at Saint Francis on April 27.

Pierce recorded a long of 45.83m (150' 4") at Bucknell, where she placed third, to top the A-10's rookie leaderboard. The mark ranks fifth all-time at Duquesne.

Three All-Academic Team members is the most for Duquesne since 2016, while three All-Rookie selections are the most in a single season in program history.
