Latoni Tabbed Second Team All-Conference

Puerto Rico native earns third career postseason accolade

Washington, D.C. – Graduate student Daniela Latoni of the Duquesne University women's tennis team, was tabbed to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team, announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

Latoni, a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, tallied a 20-31 overall record this season while recording a 9-6 mark at the top spot in doubles competition during the spring. She went 2-2 against conference opponents while being victorious in three of four doubles matches in the month of February. Latoni ended the season winning three of her last four doubles matches, including a pair against conference foes.

The graduate student played at the top spot during singles competition, where she went 9-9 this spring. Latoni went 3-1 against conference opponents while winning four of her last five singles matches to end the year. Before the A-10 Championships, she collected back-to-back conference wins at Dayton and St. Bonaventure.

For the third time in her career, Latoni has earned postseason accolades as she was named to the A-10 second team in 2021 and 2023. She was named to the CSC Academic All-District® Team earlier this month for the second straight year while having multiple selections to the Dean's List, A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, and Duquesne's Vice President of Athletics Honor Roll. Latoni is also a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and ends her career with a 94-89 (.514) career record. She captured 52 singles victories and 42 doubles wins in her time at Duquesne.

The Dukes finished the season with a 7-13 record falling to Dayton in the opening round of the A-10 Championships.
