LAST TIME OUT
- The Dukes come into the A-10 Championships after a week off from competition ... Duquesne was last in action on February 10th at the SPIRE Collegiate Invitational, capping off a stretch of five straight weekends with meets.
- Duquesne won three events and made a pair of edits to the program record book at SPIRE.
- Hannah Seitzinger won the 400m with an indoor-best 55.80, topping the 80-runner field ... With the indoor PR, she now ranks third all-time at Duquesne in the 400m.
- Haley Hamilton recorded a personal best in a first-place finish in the 3000m (out of 73 athletes) with a 9:59.15.
- Amy Allen, Alyssa Willis, Jamelah Carswell and Hannah Seitzinger took the top spot in the 4x400m with an IC4A/ECAC qualifying 3:47.95, just a hundredth of a second outside of the top five at DU.
- Madelyn Moretti refreshed her second place standing on the Duquesne all-time list in the shot put with a new indoor best (14.44m / 47' 4.5") and was runner up at the SPIRE meet.
- Jamelah Carswell (8.98) and Anna Rorrer (8.99) hit IC4A/ECAC qualifying times with personal bests in the prelims of the 60m hurdles.
THIS SEASON IN THE RECORD BOOK
- Haley Hamilton ran the second fastest 1000m time at DU with a 2:54.77 at Penn State ... Liv Wilson, who was in the same race, recorded a 2:55.22 and is fifth all-time.
- Ezra Johnson-Mills has hit a PR of 17.40m (57' 1") twice this season (back-to-back meets at YSU and Penn State) and sits second all-time at DU.
- Madelyn Moretti posted the second-longest indoor shot put in DU history (14.08m - 46' 2.5") on Jan. 13 at Kent State, then upped it to 14.44m (47' 4.5") last time out at SPIRE.
- Hannah Seitzinger elevated up the all-time leaderboard to third in the 800m after charting a 2:10.16 at Penn State. ... The 55.80 in the 400m in the race victory at SPIRE also moved Seitzinger to third all-time.
- Phoenix, Ariz. native Jamelah Carswell set her second personal best of the season in the pentathlon with 3598 points at Penn State, while remaining fourth on the all-time top-five list at Duquesne ... Halle Walcutt joined the all-time top-five in fifth with 3177 pentathlon points at the YSU Mid-Major.
- Sadie Wetzel set a personal best for the third straight week with her 1.72m (5' 7.75") high jump at Akron ... The senior is tied for second all-time at DU with current assistant coach Shannon Taub.
DUKES IN THE TOP-10 OF THE A-10
- Duquesne has athletes ranking in the top-10 this season in the Atlantic 10 Conference in 10 events.
- Hannah Seitzinger's 55.80 last time out in the win at SPIRE is the fastest 400m time recorded this season in the A-10 ... Seitzinger also has the third-fastest 800m with a 2:10.16 at Penn State ... Amy Allen joins Seitzinger on the 400m top-10 list in sixth with a 56.93, posted in the season opener, while Liv Wilson is ninth in the 800m with a 2:13.01 ran at Akron.
- Jamelah Carswell holds the highest pentathlon point total of the season (3598 at the Penn State National Open), while her fastest 60m hurdles time (8.98 - set last race) is 10th ... Halle Walcutt's 3177 points at Youngstown State's Mid-Major places her fourth in the league.
- The 4x400m relay team of Allen, Willis, Carswell, and Seitzinger charted the fastest time in the A-10 this season with a 3:47.95 in the SPIRE event victory.
- The Wilson, Allen, Seitzinger, Hamilton distance medley squad is second in the A-10 after their event-winning 12:01.41 at Akron.
- Sadie Wetzel enters the championships ranked second in the A-10 with a career-best 1.72m (5' 7.75") high jump recorded earlier this season at Akron ... First year Caroline Garbe cleared 1.62m (5' 3.75") at the YSU Collegiate Invitational and is ninth in the league.
- Madelyn Moretti moved up a spot to third in the A-10 rankings after her new indoor-best 14.44m (47' 4.5") last time out.
- Ezra Johnson-Mills is fifth in the A-10 weight throw with a season-best 17.40m (57' 1").
- Haley Hamilton (2:54.77) and Liv Wilson (2:55.22) are seventh and ninth in the 1000m from their performances at Penn State.
A-10 INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
- Duquesne has finished in eighth place in the team standings each of the past two seasons ... In 2014, DU had its highest finish ever with 109 points in a tie for second place behind nine medalists, six of which won gold ... The last top-five finish for the Dukes was in 2020, they have had 11 top-five finishes all-time.
- The Dukes took home four medals last season ... Hannah Seitzinger won the 500m for the second straight year ... Seitzinger is one of four to ever go back-to-back at the A-10's and looks to become the first Duquesne athlete to ever win three consecutive golds in an event.
- Emily Brozeski claimed the top spot on the podium in the pentathlon in 2023 with 3639 points.
- Amy Allen earned bronze in the 500m last season at the A-10 Championships, along with the 4x400m relay team of Willis, Allen, Mucci, and Seitzinger.
